TENCEL™ Modal Air-Layer Stretch Jersey is made with 50s TENCEL™ Modal fibers, 50/72 DTY polyester, and 20D spandex. The TENCEL™ Modal portion gives the fabric its signature silky-smooth hand and natural luster. DTY polyester provides structural support for the air-layer construction, while the spandex ensures the fabric snaps back cleanly after stretching.
Because both TENCEL™ and Modal are wood-pulp-based, this fabric has a softer drape and a gentler next-to-skin feel compared to standard poly-viscose air-layer fabrics. It positions well for mid-to-high-end loungewear or urban casual collections. The air-layer construction keeps the fabric plump and full, so finished garments never look thin or flat.
Factories typically recommend this blend for casual jackets, relaxed trousers, wide-leg pants, and premium casual sets. The soft fiber character and noticeable plush weight both add to the perceived value of the end product.
